LEATHER CHEMIST/TECHNICIAN

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and talented Leather Chemist to join our dynamic team. The Leather Chemist will play a critical role in researching, developing, and applying new tanning and finishing processes to enhance the quality, performance, and sustainability of our leather products.
Responsibilities:
Developing and optimizing leather tanning, retanning, and finishing processes using a blend of traditional methods and innovative techniques.
Conducting laboratory trials, interpreting results, and implementing successful processes into production.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve any quality issues and enhance product performance.
Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and maintaining high standards in environmental sustainability.
Staying abreast of new developments in leather chemistry, including emerging technologies and practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Material Science, or related field. Advanced degrees preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the leather industry, specifically in the field of leather chemistry.
Comprehensive understanding of the principles of leather making, including beamhouse operations, tanning, retanning, dyeing, and finishing.
Proven track record of success in problem-solving and process optimization.
Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
